While reading the Naruto Manga chapter on the part where Jiraiya fought the Pain in Pain’s place, I wonder why Jiraiya needed to fuse with the two frogs when doing the Sage technique. I was thinking that they just wanted to fuse their chakra too.

But the Naruto Manga chapter 420 revealed that the main reason why Jiraiya and the two frogs fused is not to fuse their chakra or power but to perform the Sage technique smoothly.

The King of the frog explained to Naruto the risk of the Sage technique. Sage Technique is performed by first staying. What I mean, Naruto should not move anything from his body first so that Naruto can absorb the nature’s energy. During that time, Naruto will be at risk. If Naruto is in battle, the enemies can easily kill him while he is still absorbing the nature’s energy.

However, there’s a remedy of it. The frog should fuse with Naruto just like what Jiraiya and the two frogs did. With this, Naruto while moving, the frog attached to his shoulder can absorb the nature’s spring energy. Therefore, performing the Sage technique very well.

I’m glad that Naruto finally perfected the Sagi technique, just like what the Naruto Manga chapter 418 has told us. And another good thing is, Naruto is the only student who perfected it. Even Jiraiya-Sama failed to perfect the Sagi Technique, that is why, during the battle of Jiraiya against Pain, Jiraiya is a little bit changed to frog form when he used the sagi technique.

But the problem is, Is Naruto ready already to fight the Pain using his Sagi technique? Remember that Pain is already attacking the Konoha village, as told by the Naruto Manga chapter 419.
